Trout Fishing – at Green Mountain Falls Lake, Cabin provides fishing gear.
Hiking – There are several trails. Our favorite, “Catamount Trail”, begins at the falls ¼ mile from the Cabin and takes you to the top of the falls and a beautiful mountain meadow.
Swimming – Green Mountain Falls Pool.
Tennis/Basketball Courts – Green Mountain Falls Park, next to the swimming pool.
Picnicking – Picnic at Mountain Symphony or take a 10 minute walk to the falls for a beautiful picnic.
Breakfast – The Pantry at the west end of the lake…best breakfast in the region.
Lunch – Blue Moose Tavern, dine on the deck overlooking the lake.
Dinner – Mucky Duck for fireside dining and an eclectic menu.

Academy Riding Stables – Horseback riding in Garden of the Gods.
Cave of the Winds – Tour of unique underground cave, evening laser shows during summer months.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo – World class zoo experience on the side of Cheyenne Mountain.
Historic Manitou Springs – Quaint, historic town with old Victorian style storefronts and the delightful penny arcade.
Pike’s Peak-America’s Mountain – Graded highway to the summit of Pikes Peak.

Moderate drives (15 to 45 minutes)
Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad – Tour old mining areas in open cars behind a steam locomotive.
Butte Theater Melodrama and Oleo – The Melodrama at Cripple Creek dates back to the Gold Rush and is a great couple hours of live entertainment for the whole family.
MOLLIE Kathleen Gold Mine – Gold mine tour near Cripple Creek.
Air Force Academy – Guided tours available.
Fishing – South Platt River with some of the finest fly fishing in the country. Lake George, 11 mile Canyon.(?)
Full Day Trips (up to 2 hours’ drive time)
White Water Rafting – Royal Gorge, exciting level 4 and 5 rapids.
Snow Skiing – We recommend Breckenridge, with or without snow, approximately a 2 hour scenic drive.
Hot Springs – Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, fun for the entire family, offers a variety of hot spring pools, some with slides for the kids.
